Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Earmarqer (“the Service”) is a personal, invite-only bookmarking tool operated by Brett Webb. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address and password you provide at signup. Passwords are hashed; we never see them in plaintext.
- Bookmarks you save:the URL, title, optional note, and tags. When you save a URL, our server fetches the page’s public Open Graph metadata (title, description, image) once at save time.
- Session cookie: a single authentication cookie from Supabase Auth so you stay signed in. No analytics or tracking cookies.
What we do not collect
We do not run analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party telemetry. We do not collect your browser fingerprint, IP-based location, or device identifiers beyond what is necessary to serve the Service.
Service providers
We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service:
- Supabase— database and authentication.
- Google Cloud Run— application hosting.
- Google s2/favicons— favicon images for your saved URLs are loaded from Google’s public favicon service. This means Google sees the domains you have bookmarked when those favicons load in your browser.
Public bookmarks
Each bookmark has a privacy toggle, off by default. When you mark a bookmark public, its URL, title, tags, and timestamp become visible to other Earmarqer users and on the public landing page. You can toggle a bookmark back to private at any time.
Retention and deletion
When you delete a bookmark, it is permanently removed from our database immediately. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email contact@brettwebb.com. We will hard-delete your account and all associated bookmarks and tags within 7 days of the request.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing contact@brettwebb.com. Where applicable laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) grant you additional rights, we will honor them.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security policies that scope each user’s data to their own account. No service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
